Claret: 2001 Vintage

Here is the 2001 Claret and what a vintage! This is one big beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon with about 10% Merlot and just a splash of  Petit Verdot. One of my first jobs  after  graduating  from U.C. Davis was to bottle the 1974 Heitz Martha's Vineyard and I can honestly say I have not seen a vintage like 2001 in my career.
