2008 Pinot Blanc
This pale yellow colored offering from Robert Foley was quite intriguing. It opens with a very faint apricot bouquet with a hint of anise. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild pear with a hint of vanilla and mineral. We were very surprised to hear Bob say this wine had no malo and no oak treatment. The finish is dry and its pleasant and gentle mineral notes continue on for quite a while. Our group thought this wine would pair well with seared scallops with a lemon butter drizzle.
